The four women in this exhibition—Talia Roberts, Birdie Hall, April Werle, and Daphne Sweet—make work that share a thematic focus on spirituality. All approach artmaking as a restorative practice--reclaiming materials, images, and archetypes, telling stories, kindling spiritual traditions, and observing rituals, the passage of time, and the progression of the seasons. Each artist draws on the Earth, their diasporas, and their corporality to reimagine histories, reconnect to the natural world, and reclaim the power and positivity of women’s bodies.
All four artists will speak about their work December 8, 5:30-7pm.
