Description:
The Confluence Center (Western Montana's Home for Nonprofit Events) art program Torrents is thrilled to present a magical evening of art, music, and community! We're packing the house with Solstice, our second annual group exhibit featuring 60 local and regional artists, just in time for the Holidays. Solstice will feature a wide range of artistic styles and mediums, and many smaller, affordable works perfect for gift giving. Featuring work by:
Abigail Elliott Gergasko, Adelheid West, Alexandrea Ground, Alyssa English, Amanda Kaye Bielby, Amanda Krolczyk, Angela Strohl, Ann Karp, Bobbe Almer, Brett “Dizzie” Allen, Brian Christianson, Brittani Wulf, Courtney Grigg, Courntey Murphy, Dianne Beesley, Dot Harris, Elisha Harteis, Erin Johnson, Erynn McNeill, Grace Lawless, Jazmine Penelope, Jeannie Burham, Jennifer Baylis, Jessica Wachter, Jessie Smith, Kage Harp, Karen Rice, Keith VanDePol, Kelsey Wickwire, Kent Burkhardsmeier, Kim Brown Campbell, Kim Foiles, Lady Pajama, Laura B. Palmer, Lin Bateman, Linda Daigle, Linda Helding, Lisa Savard, Madelaine Hunter Millar, Madelyn Larson,Gail Trenfield, Mark Matthews, Marnie Prange, Martin Kidston, Mary Tallent, Morgan Grau, Nancy Rishoff, Patricia Huff, Rebecca Velde, Riley Tanè Zumbrennen, Sean Parson, Sharon Davidson, Sheryl Silberman and T. Lyle.
Also on display this evening will be Art & Activism in the Bitterroot room. This display is a special exhibit by students from the UM's Davidson Honors College where students channeled their energy, whether caused by concern, frustration or excitement, over issues they see in the world around them into art making - dance, visual art or theater. The aim is to use that art to raise awareness, educate, move a viewer emotionally or intellectually and ultimately create change.
Featuring live music by Madeleine Tucker and festive treats, this will be the perfect way to start off your Holidays with a bang!
Reception will be First Friday, December 6th, 5-8pm at the Confluence Center at 119 W Main St, Missoula, MT. Solstice will remain on display through January 31st and can be seen by appointment through the center: 406-926-6526
