Two Premier Ensembles: One Exciting Weekend of Music
The String Orchestra of the Rockies, Montana’s premier conductorless string orchestra, welcomes Missoula’s treasured choral ensemble, Dolce Canto, as guest artists for the second concert of SORs 40th Anniversary Season.
It’s part of a two-concert, November 16-17, weekend of great music. On Saturday evening, Dolce Canto will be heard in concert with special guests from The String Orchestra of the Rockies. The concert will begin at 7:00 p.m., in the UM Music Recital Hall. Tickets may be purchased at dolcecanto.org.
Then, on Sunday afternoon, The String Orchestra of the Rockies will host Dolce Canto as guest artists for its 4:00 p.m. performance, also in the UM Music Recital Hall. Tickets may be purchased at sormt.org or at the door.
The Sunday String Orchestra of the Rockies program will include Dona Nobis Pacem for chorus and strings by Peteris Vasks, Elegie by Carl Busch, and an arrangement for string orchestra of Luigi Cherubini’s Quartet #3 in D minor.
Don’t miss these unforgettable performances, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, November 16, and 4:00 pm, Sunday, November 17th, both in the UM Music Recital Hall. Tickets are going fast!
