Preserve Your Harvest: Kitchen Open House

Join us for a free-form evening of food preservation!

This event is an opportunity for you to try something new under the guidance of expert food preservers. Stations for quick-pickling, canning, fermenting, freezing and dehydrating will be set up and equipped with the directions and materials for each form of preservation. Roving preservation experts will be available for consult as you embark on your preservation journey.

BYOV: bring your own vegetables, and we will supply the rest!

Whether you have a glut of one vegetable or little bits of many, this is an opportunity to get creative in the kitchen! Bring in a cabbage and walk out with sauerkraut, or learn a new method for preserving all that summer squash

Garden City Harvest might be able to supply some farm fresh vegetables for purchase depending on what’s available from our farms. That being said, vegetables are not guaranteed and participants should plan to bring their own veggies for preserving.

Note: Our kitchen and work space will be open from 4-8PM. Participants are welcome to show up anytime within that window., but we recommend that you arrive at least an hour before the end of the workshop to ensure enough time for kitchen creativity .
