The Confluence Center Hosts a New Art Exhibit with Local Artist Tricia Opstad

Headwaters Foundation recently opened the Confluence Center (Western Montana's Home for Nonprofit Events) in Downtown Missoula and is thrilled to join in on the vibrant culture of the downtown neighborhood with their art programming called Torrents! For the upcoming First Friday on June 2nd, they will host local artist, Tricia Opstad, in her solo show, INVISIBLE INTO VISIBLE.

Tricia Opstad is a self-taught unconventional and adventurous multimedia artist who grew up in North Dakota and currently lives and works in Missoula, Montana. Tricia makes drawings, paintings, dances, and performances, which includes free noise/experimental music. She accesses her skills and training as a dancer using embodiment practices in her visual work.

This body of work includes drawings and paintings, as well as video projections, and is created from an embodied memory and presence after being in the natural world, from landscape and abstraction concepts and from artifacts that are intrinsic to a dream, sensations, impulse, or undefined phenomenon.

The exhibit will be open to the public for First Friday, June 2nd, 2023, 5pm-8pm, and will also feature live music by Dusty Shriver. The Confluence Center is located at 119 W. Main Street, Missoula, MT. INVISIBLE INTO VISIBLE can be seen through the end of July by appointment with the Confluence Center.
