MNHC's Birdwatching Club – April Description:
Dates: April 5th & 23rd

Time: 9:00-12:30 p.m.

April Location: Lee Metcalf Wildlife Refuge (the location will change each month.) If there is a lot of interest in April’s meetups, we will consider offering our busses as transportation.

Cost: $25 for non-members and $20 for members per program

*There are two dates available for each bird club every month. You only need to pay for one of the dates in the month and you can join us on both of the dates! You will still need to REGISTER FOR BOTH DATES, so we are able to cap our club size at 10. You will receive an email with two discount codes after you complete your first registration. One of the discount codes will allow you to register for the second date of April, and the second discount code will allow you to register for future month’s bird club meetups for a 30% discount!

Description: Missoula County is home to over 200 bird species. From migrating waterfowl, raptors, and warblers in the spring to flocks of red crossbills and breeding owls in the winter, each season is fun and exciting to bird in. In the Birdwatching Club we will visit different sites twice a month during every season to find what species are present and how they use their habitats. This club will meet twice a month, every month. All experience levels are welcome, and binoculars are available to borrow.

About the Instructor: Elena Ulev is a Master Naturalist and Certified Interpretive Guide with over 30 years of experience conducting bird surveys and birding for fun. She is an avid eBirder, logging 180 species in Missoula County to date. Elena uses a variety of techniques to help all ages and experience levels learn how to identify birds by sight and by sound.
