Introduction to Hand Spinning-Making Your Own Yarn

Description:
Learn how to spin wool into yarn using a simple spindle, one of human kind’s oldest tools. We will learn how to draft the wool fibers, spin them into yarn, and how to ply the yarn to make it suitable for knitting, weaving, or crochet. We will also learn some simple techniques for preparing fleece for spinning. In the second session, students will have a chance to try spinning on a spinning wheel.
