Description:
Winter Session: Open Instruction
Tuesdays, 2-5PM
January 6 - March 10
Teaching Artist: Heather Lepp
$330 members / $345 nonmembers
This class is for intermediate to advanced students looking to pursue their own craft.
This class is student-centered and intentionally unstructured. This class is not for students who still need intensive instruction on the basics. This class is suitable for both throwing and handbuilding. Explore your own work in Open Instruction! One of our professional artists in residence will be present to give advice as you navigate your ceramic journey, and give demonstrations tailored to the class to help elevate your existing skills and further your goals. A great way for emerging makers to access the studio on a regular basis for their craft.
Requirements: Have taken at least one Beginning Pottery or Handbuilding course (or an equivalent from another institution), know the basic techniques and be able to work in the studio in a largely self-guided fashion.
Included in class fee:
First bag of clay
Firing fees for all work created during the 10-week class session (size limit- items must not measure more than 20” in any direction)
Access to work in studio outside of class meeting time
Access outside of class time will be restricted to business hours when other classes and programs are not in session in the classroom, and additional monitored times. Your instructor will orient you on how to reserve open studio access on the first day of class.
We ask that students comply with all of our health and safety guidelines. Students must sign a class waiver at the beginning of any class to confirm their agreement and provide an up-to-date emergency contact for studio records.
Class is limited to 10 students max.
