We have had increasing requests from our community to host a Hap? Ceremony. Thank you for your interest in learning more and sitting with this beautiful plant medicine.
Jan 12th Sacred Ceremony
Join us for an intimate evening of connection and prayer through the sacred Amazonian medicine of Hap? (also spelled Rap?). Hap? is a traditional medicinal snuff made from finely ground tobacco and other therapeutic plants that originates from the southern regions of Brazil, Columbia and Peru. This blend of powdered medicinal herbs is commonly used throughout various tribes including the Yawanawa, Huni Kuin (Kaxinawa), Mayoruna and Matses. Considered a powerful tool for grounding, clearing, and aligning the mind, body, and spirit, hap? helps release energetic blockages, calm the nervous system, and open the heart to deeper presence and awareness. It is used to focus ones spiritual path and provides deep connection to the energy field. As it works through the body, hap? can also support detoxification, alignment of energy centers, and opening of the heart.
If you have no previous relationship with tobacco, affects can feel mild to intense and on occasion can cause nausea and or purging which is consider normal and a welcome release if that should be the case. However, most people enjoy the affects with little to no nausea. Peter and Sarah will work with you individually to serve a dose that is in alignment with your experience and relationship to tobacco.
During the ceremony, hap? will be administered with a traditional instrument called a tepi. This sacred pipe allows the facilitator to gently blow the medicine into each nostril, symbolizing the dual currents of life force energy. The act of receiving hap? through the tepi is itself a prayer?a transmission of intention and healing.
Sarah and Peter, co-founders of Sacred Ally have built a supportive relationship with the Yawana people of the Yawarani Village in Brazil. They source their Hap? directly from them. The Hap? is hand made with intention and prayer by the village elder Pai Nani, whom Sarah and Peter have had the honor and privilege to study and learn from. Pain Nani gives his blessing to share this medicine with the people with the prayer and hope that humanity will focus their spiritual path and walk in right relationship with the Earth and one another.
What to Expect:
This 90-minute ceremony will include:
Education on the history, traditional uses, and benefits of hap?.
Administration of the medicine in a safe, intentional, and guided setting.
Guided meditation to support integration of the medicine?s teachings.
Sharing circle to honor the wisdom and experiences that arise.
We invite you to come with an open heart, curiosity, and reverence for this sacred plant ally. Whether you are new to hap? or have sat with it before, this ceremony offers a space to connect more deeply with yourself, the medicine, and community.
